Gundam Gremory

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

Gundam Gremory, which appears in the Iron-Blooded Orphans spin-off manga Iron-Blooded Orphans Gekko, has been released as an HG kit. The Iron-Blooded series keeps putting out new kits every now and then — this one reuses the existing Barbatos Frame runners, but everything else is all-new tooling.

The kit's characteristics reflect the typical strengths and weaknesses of the Barbatos Frame. Articulation is excellent, but the joints are ever so slightly wobbly, so getting a clean pose takes quite a bit of fiddling. The joint strength isn't terribly loose, but if you don't balance the center of gravity carefully, it tends to keep toppling over.

Only one weapon is included — the Battle Anchor — along with a gimmick that lets you rotate the forearm armor forward into position. There's also a gimmick to flip the head hood back and fully expose the head. Two types of hands are included, but the color separation feels a bit half-baked and ends up looking neither here nor there. The fingers are supposed to be dark gray with only the fingertips in pink, but the fist hand comes in dark gray while the open hand comes in pink — so neither one is quite right.

Aside from the somewhat iffy joint stability, this is an overall decent quality HG kit, and if you're a fan of Iron-Blooded Orphans, it seems like a perfectly enjoyable build. :-)
