The CR-C75U2 Delta Ver., a rare quadruped mech not just among Armored Core kits but across all robot kits in general, has been released. The style itself is completely unique, making it the kind of thing any robot mech fan is bound to take notice of.

The molded color scheme follows the same cool blue tones as the Crest close-quarters combat and lightweight versions, doing a great job of capturing that cold, metallic feel. The body shares the same design as the close-quarters combat version, while the head and arms are carried over from existing Armored Core accessory sets. The legs, of course, are entirely new molds.

As an unusual quadruped kit, the natural question on everyone's mind is how the four legs are constructed and just how much they can move. The short answer is that the four legs are brilliantly executed — with ball-jointed hips, decent knee joints, and ankles that flex in every direction, the kit is properly designed to pull off just about any pose you can think of. As you can see in the photos, it's flexible enough to casually rest one leg up on an upright cigarette pack.

These four leg joints aren't just flexible — the joint strength is excellent too, so they hold their positions really well. If all four legs were loose and floppy, that would be an absolute nightmare just thinking about it.. ^^;; Thanks to that, there's a real joy in arranging and moving the legs in all sorts of ways~ The arm sections built in a machine gun form look pretty cool too. The large, hefty cannon on the back looks great style-wise, but the center of gravity is way off, which does make it a bit tricky to keep in place. In cases like this, just wrapping some scotch tape around the connection point like in the photos above fixes it right away. (A fix common to all Armored Core kits)

Sure, repeatedly building four similar legs might get a little tedious, but the solid, wide-set presence you only get from a quadruped mech, combined with those flexible yet sturdy leg joints, genuinely deserves high marks. If you're a fan of unique kits, this is one you really don't want to miss — it's a great kit :-)
