Kit Review

The 10th kit in the D-Style lineup is the Armored Core: For Answer Aaliyah - Supplice (Night Battle Version), following the White Glint. This one was previously released as a limited edition in 1/72 scale, and it was quite a stylish little thing back then.
The overall layout is similar to the White Glint, but the kit quality has improved a bit. The D-Style White Glint looked great but the limb joints popped out way too easily, which was a bit of a pain.. The D-Style Supplice still has some joint looseness in the legs, but it's at least better than before. Articulation isn't something you'd expect much from anyway, but the level of detail is impressive for its small size, and the over-boost on the back is recreated with a parts-swap system too. D-Style kits generally go together pretty well without glue compared to other Koto kits, but I'd still recommend gluing the D-Style Armored Core series together. This kit also has a few spots where the fit is a bit iffy.
Personally, the D-Style Armored Core series is cute in its own way, but with so much stuff hanging off of them, they feel a bit awkward as chibi mecha that are supposed to be simple and charming. That said, if you're not expecting much in the way of articulation and you just love compact, finely detailed little figures, I think this is a kit you can have a lot of fun with. ^^
