Kit Review

Straight build
Ultra Saurus has been released as the 3rd entry in the D-Style Zoids series. It's a unit that never got a 1/72 HMM release, so it's nice to see it show up in D-Style form at least ^^
Compared to other D-Style kits, this one really stands out with its mechanical detail and molding — the neck, body, and head sections feature especially precise and intricate molds. Clear parts are used throughout, giving it great color, and the color separation is pretty well done too, so even a straight build looks quite striking and clean.
That said, despite being a design with a lot of potential moving parts, the articulation on everything except the neck is really poor. The legs can barely move forward and back, and the tail feels almost completely fixed in place — so there's really not much in the way of action poses you can pull off, which is a shame.
On the plus side, both the 360mm High-Speed Cannon and the Gravity Cannon are included, so you can pick whichever one you prefer when building. There's also a super cute pilot figure tucked inside the canopy.
The articulation is worse than expected, which is a bit disappointing — but at the end of the day, what really matters in a kit at this scale is "cuteness," so it's still a fun build. The Ultra Saurus kit even recreates the rarely-seen Gravity Cannon, which should be a real treat for Zoids fans. With so many Zoids units out there, here's hoping we'll see more D-Style Zoids kits down the line :-)
