Geki Ryu Jin

Kit Review

Straight build

Following the D-Style Choryujin, Geki Ryu Jin has now been released — this time featuring the combined form of the green Fuuryu and the yellow Rairyu.

First off, Fuuryu transforms into a cement mixer and Rairyu into a dump truck as their vehicle modes. The transformation and combination processes are identical to Choryujin, so there's nothing particularly new to point out. They've still made good use of detachable and articulated joints to pull off a surprisingly convincing transformation for such a small size. ^^

Fuuryu and Rairyu's robot modes don't have much articulation beyond the neck and arms, so they're not exactly great for striking poses. However, the combined Geki Ryu Jin has additional movement in the knees and shoulders, so you can get some decent action poses out of it. Much like Choryujin, the real appeal here is less about articulation and more about how all the transformation and combination gimmicks have been packed into such a small scale.

As a bonus, the kit includes the Eraser Head weapon for Choryujin, and if you have the Choryujin kit, you can swap out half of it for some extra fun — a nice little optional feature. And even though the overall structure is similar to Choryujin, they're different characters, so if you already own the D-Style Choryujin, Geki Ryu Jin is pretty much a must-buy! :-)
