Wyvern

Kit Review

Straight build

The Wyvern has been released as a color variant of the Frame Arms Vulture. Essentially, it includes all of the Vulture's runners with changed molded colors, plus additional runners on top of that — so overall it feels like a more elaborate, upgraded version.

Since the inner body is the same, the kit's basic characteristics are identical to the Vulture, though the structure at the back of the legs is larger, which makes knee articulation feel a little worse. That said, the arm, leg, and body articulation are all solid thanks to the updated Architect inner frame, giving decent range of motion and joint strength. The newly redesigned weapon can fold and unfold its blade, letting you switch between rifle mode and grave mode.

The bird cruising mode transformation works the same way as the Vulture, but with the wings being even larger, it ends up looking even more imposing. On top of that, you can now mount the weapon on the sides of the legs, which makes the whole thing look that much cooler — a solid upgrade overall.

There are a lot of added parts, so the price is ¥1,000 more than the Vulture, but since a good number of the Vulture parts end up as leftover parts, it does feel a bit like you're getting the short end of the stick. Still, the end result does feel like an upgrade over the original kit, so I suppose that's some consolation.

If you're into the unit's style and its flashy bird mode transformation, this is a fun kit to build. It's got a strong personality even within the Frame Arms lineup, so I'd say it's worth recommending. :-)
