Kit Review

The 38th Frame Arms kit is the Jagd Falx, a variation of the Ray Falx. The base body is the same as the Ray Falx, just with darker molded colors — plus a new set of weapons thrown into the mix.
The new weapons include the BS-R/L40 Rifle and two Type-14 Tactical Demolition Swords. The Type-14 Tactical Demolition Swords can be combined into a twin ring blade, or attached to either side of the BS-R/L40 Rifle to recreate Scissor Launcher Mode. These weapons can also be stored on the shoulders and side skirts when not in use, which adds even more visual bulk to an already impressive silhouette.
Visually it's a flashy and impressive kit, but as you'd expect, the Architect's joint strength really struggles to support all that bulk. A standing pose is just about manageable, but spread the legs even a little and it topples right over. Even on a stand, it's hard to hold poses with arms extended straight out or legs raised high. Ultimately, the poses you see in the review photos above are about the best you can get — so if you actually want to play around with it properly, reinforcing the joints is pretty much a must.
That said, this kit absolutely outdoes the original in terms of visual impact, and as long as you sort out those weak joints, the visual payoff is pretty satisfying. Assembly is also on the easier side for a Kotobukiya kit, so if you're into flashy mecha designs, this is definitely one worth giving a shot. :-)
