Kotobukiya Frame Arms

Type 34 Model 1 Jinrai

Kit Review

Straight build

The Type 34 Model 1 Jinrai has been released as the 48th kit in the Frame Arms lineup. Jinrai was actually released as a Frame Arms Girl first — normally it's the other way around with Frame Arms coming out first, but this time it was reversed. Visually, it's based on the Kouryuu with some armor pieces repositioned and changed, and the molded color has been switched to a deep crimson.

The base frame uses the improved Architect frame, which delivers excellent articulation and joint strength — and this time it comes as an assembly-type frame rather than a pre-built one. The improved frame had felt a little loose before, but the Architect frame used in this Jinrai actually feels almost stiff, showing off noticeably solid joint strength. That makes it a really easy kit to pose.

For weapons, it includes MSG No. 11 Vive Glaive and various other armaments that were in the Frame Arms Girl Jinrai, and while the accessories aren't the most varied, you can still pull off plenty of action poses with the different weapon combinations.

With greatly improved joint strength, this is a kit that's a pleasure to both build and play with, and at ¥4,200 it's pretty affordable for Kotobukiya. I'd especially recommend this kit to anyone looking to try Frame Arms for the first time. :-)
