Kit Review

The Stylet has been released as the second kit in the popular Frame Arms Girl series. Unlike the Gourai with its somewhat dull, tank-concept color scheme, the Stylet goes for a bright blue fighter jet concept that's visually much more striking. The number of face expression parts has also increased from 3 to 4, so the overall package is a slight step up from before.
The feel of the kit is the same as the previous Gourai — swappable faces, a set of 10 soft hand parts, flexible articulation, and joints that feel snug and hold poses well. Compared to the Gourai, the armor pieces on the body feel larger and more complex, which gives it an even more dynamic look when posing. The much longer hair in particular adds an extra sense of energy to the whole thing.
A stand has also been added that wasn't included with the Gourai — and that's because the Stylet's design features landing gear-shaped heels that make it impossible to stand on its own. So you really do need the stand for proper display, but on the bright side, it actually lets you set up poses more stably than you'd expect.
For weapons, alongside the standard gatling gun, the kit also includes the separately sold MGS No. 32 samurai sword parts, so you've got plenty of options for action poses. Having the stand hold the body does make posing easier than with the Gourai, but on the flip side, more dynamic action poses can actually be trickier since the stand tends to get in the way. Also, just like the Gourai, illustration-pose left arm and left leg parts are included so you can recreate the box art pose.
Anyway, personally I like this kit even more than the Gourai. True to a lineup that sells itself on looks, it's plenty cute on the outside — so if you're interested, don't wait too long to pull the trigger. :-)
