Kotobukiya Frame Arms Girl

Durga I

Kit Review

Straight build

This kit is the Durga I released as part of the Frame Arms Girl series. In the Frame Arms line, Durga I came out as a variation of Magatsuki, and the Frame Arms Girl line has followed suit. Basically, the Durga I's design concept itself is Magatsuki with a rearranged armor layout.

Because of that, most of the base frame and armor parts are carried over directly from Frame Arms Girl Magatsuki, but the helmet, head, weapons, and side skirts have been newly added. Core characteristics like solid articulation and joint strength remain the same as Magatsuki.

The newly redesigned curly hair has quite a voluminous, full look, but because of that it can interfere with the backpack and weapons. Overall, parts attachment feels less secure compared to the similarly designed Magatsuki. The knee armor and foot covers tend to pop off during posing, and some parts are loose enough that they just fall apart. Gluing down the unstable parts helps a lot, and there are quite a few parts you'll want to bond for durability. Otherwise, you might find yourself getting increasingly frustrated as parts constantly come loose and fall off while you're posing it T_T

As for the exclusive weapon, the Hailance can be split into two pieces for use as a short lance/mace, and the base design itself is quite cute, allowing for all sorts of fun poses. It's a bit of a shame that the durability feels a little shaky, but in terms of its distinctive armor layout and overall looks, it's a pretty solid girlpla. :-)
