Kotobukiya Frame Arms Girl

Wilber Nine Beryl Armor Custom

Kit Review

Straight build

This kit is the Wilber Nine Beryl Armor Custom released as part of Kotobukiya's Frame Arms Girl series. It's Frame Arms Girl Wilber Ninewith a changed molded color and newly added weapons. For the back of the head, Frame Arms Girl Architect's hair parts have been reused.

Since the body is completely identical to the original except for the back of the head, this review focuses mainly on the new hairstyle and the new weapons. It still shows excellent articulation and joint strength, and the gimmick of detaching the weapons to form a bike is intact as well. The newly added Multi Module Bladecan be configured into various weapon forms through different combinations. Beyond the base Multi Module Blade (Standard Deployment Type), you can also combine it into a knife, blade unit, single-edge sword mode, blade rifle, rifle mode, axe mode, and more.

So yes, it's a somewhat predictable color variant + new weapon option variation, but it delivers solid value with great build quality, an appealing bike transformation, and a versatile new weapon with plenty of configuration options. That said, some parts have become more fragile due to the switch to clear parts — as you can see in the review photos above, the finger machete piece can snap easily, so do be careful. Either way, as a kit on its own merits it's a really nicely done girl-pla, so if it suits your taste, I'd definitely recommend picking it up. :-)
