Kotobukiya Frame Arms Girl Hand Scale

Stylet

Kit Review

Straight build

The Stylet has been released as the second Frame Arms Girl Hand Scale kit. Just like its predecessor, it's a super small and adorable kit at 7.5cm — essentially a Stylet in Hexa Gear Governor scale. Small but packed with content, showing off great color separation and proportions.

Like Gourai, it also features the option to apply eye wet decals onto a blank face, and this time around they've added two swappable face parts with slightly different pupils. That said, the kit is so tiny and the difference so subtle that it's honestly hard to notice any change after swapping them out. The joint strength is a bit stiff for the size, which can make posing a little awkward — but at least it's better than being loose.

On top of that, despite its small size, it still has the gimmick of dropping the hip joints down to extend the leg range of motion — though if you pull even a little too hard, the whole leg pops right off, so you'll want to handle it with care. Also, instead of a joint gimmick for a stand, there's a hole on the bottom of the Booster on the back to attach a stand, which makes aerial display a lot more convenient.

Anyway, the quality is pretty solid, but the price (¥2700) is still a tough sell for the size. That said, if you're a fan of the Frame Arms Girl series, this is a super petite little kit that's definitely worth picking up. :-)
