Kotobukiya Frame Arms Girl Qpmini

Gourai

Kit Review

Straight build

This kit is the Qpmini Gourai, released as a new addition to the Frame Arms Girl lineup. As you can see in the photos above, it's an SD-style kit with a 3-head-tall chibi proportion. The body is a scaled-down SD version of the Frame Arms Girl Hand Scale, while the head is the same size and shape as the standard Gourai.

The end result is a kit that's even smaller than the already-tiny Hand Scale. The body parts are smaller than the Hand Scale's too, so for anyone whose eyesight isn't what it used to be (myself included T_T), assembly is quite a challenge. The parts are hard to grip, which makes cleanup and building a real struggle. Looking only at the macro close-up shots above, it might not seem that small — but seeing it in person, it's the kind of kit that'll genuinely catch you off guard with just how tiny it is.

Sure, it's almost too small — but it's also a kit that absolutely explodes with SD girl-pla cuteness. Small as it is, every joint moves: arms, knees, waist, ankles — you name it, giving you plenty of posing options. Joint strength is solid too, so poses hold well. A cute little dedicated stand is included, and with the joint part attached you can even display it in a mid-air pose. On top of that, one of the three swappable faces is a blank face for waterslide decals, so you can mix and match expressions from the included decal sheet to your liking.

So yes, it's absolutely tiny — but it's come out as an incredibly adorable little kit. If you can push through the stress of assembling parts measured in single-digit millimeters, the satisfaction once it's done is pretty rewarding. Either way, if the goal was to capture that signature SD cuteness, I'd say the result is a success. :-)
