This kit is the Convert Carrier, released as part of Kotobukiya's Gigantic Arms line. The series is mainly aimed at collaborating with Frame Arms Girls, and it can also combine with the Rapid Raider — released alongside it — to form a separate unit called the Armed Breaker.
As you can see, it takes the form of a large container vehicle, and it's put together with a surprisingly large number of parts in quite an intricate way. The core container unit is broken down into individual pieces that all need to be joined together with various joint parts. The joint parts are placed right where they need to be, so everything holds together reasonably well, and you can also adjust things like the cover positions and container length to your liking.
The container unit has a total of 8 covers that open — 4 on each side — with one side longer and the other shorter. On top of that, the inside of each cover can be separated once more, allowing for a layered open configuration, so you've got quite a variety of display options. And while you might worry about stability with so many moving parts, thankfully the joint strength on each one is solid enough that they hold their position no matter what angle you open them to. That said, in the fully closed configuration, you do set the shape using various joint parts, but with so many moving sections, the form can easily fall apart if you're not careful handling it.
Underneath, there are 3 units each fitted with 2 wheels, and each wheel comes with a suspension gimmick that moves up and down. This lets you adjust the ground clearance across a pretty wide range — it's not a spring-loaded suspension, but it's still a neat little gimmick.
And if you pull the front cab section upward and lower the footrest underneath, you can seat a Frame Arms Girl on it, allowing for a collab pose where she's standing and piloting the vehicle. The container unit is also designed to match the height of a Frame Arms Girl perfectly, so you can mix and match all sorts of collab configurations depending on your preference.
All in all, it's a pretty unique kind of plastic model — a multi-functional trailer with a strong mechanical vibe that you can have a lot of fun with. What's especially impressive is that despite the large box and the sheer number of parts, it's only ¥4800, which is quite good value for a Kotobukiya kit. Either way, it's bound to be an interesting item for anyone collecting Frame Arms Girls. :-)
