Kotobukiya Nonscale

Grapearl ~ Darry Custom

Kit Review

Straight build

This kit is the Darry-exclusive Grapearl, released at the same time as the Gimmy version.
Unlike Bandai, who usually spaces out variations over time, Kotobukiya just went ahead and dropped all 3 variations at once;

In the series, two characters — Gimmy & Darry — grow up alongside the Gurren-dan from childhood, and their respective units are the blue Gimmy Custom symbolizing masculinity and the pink Darry Custom symbolizing femininity, plus there's also the standard mass-production type — three variants in total.

The basic structure is 100% identical to the Gimmy Custom, with changes to the molded color, a slightly different head design, and different weapons.

For reference — compared to the Gimmy Custom, this one gives off a softer, more pastel feel.

Ideally you'd want to build it as a pair with the Gimmy Custom for maximum effect.. but the kit holds up pretty well on its own too. It's got all the usual Kotobukiya pros and cons, but the real issue is still the price for the size.. OTL

There's nothing particularly different to note, so just sit back and enjoy the review photos~ ^^
