The Bulkarm Alpha has been released as a Hexa Gear mech, and it's similar to the Scopedog from Votoms in that a pilot can be loaded inside the body hatch.
First off, the design looks impressively heavy and powerful, and the color scheme really stands out. The limb articulation is great for such a bulky build, and the joint strength is solid too, making it a really fun kit to pose. Previous Hexa Gear mechs had some interesting designs, but they were generally a bit lacking in terms of tightness. With the Bulkarm, though, all the moving parts are nice and snug overall, and the build quality feels much improved.
The highlight cockpit hatch opening gimmick opens up smoothly in 3 stages. You can also seat a separately sold humanoid figure inside, and the Governor Pawn Sentinel is the best fit in terms of size and style. Getting the hands onto the control sticks when seating the pilot is trickier than you'd expect, but once you get them sitting down, the sync looks pretty good.
The main cannon on the forearm comes with a gimmick that connects to the docking hanger on the rear skirt, and there are plenty of other features too — like the anchors on the front and back of the feet, and the ability to secure additional weapons using the auxiliary fingers.
All in all, this is the best kit in the series, delivering top-tier quality in terms of style, articulation, and joint strength — it's a fun kit I'd recommend to anyone who loves mecha model kits. :-)
