Kit Review

This kit is the Bulk Arm Zenith Reveal from the Hexa Gear series. With its wings spread it measures a whopping 63cm, making it an absolutely massive model kit — almost absurdly so. It's even larger in volume than the previously released large bird-type kit, Hexa Gear Agni Rageby a significant margin.
As you'd expect from a large kit, the parts count is substantial and it takes quite a while to build. Once finished, the sheer volume easily surpasses that of a PG. It's not particularly tall, but the way it spreads out horizontally gives it a commanding presence unlike anything I've seen before. With a big kit like this, durability is always the biggest concern — but thankfully, everything from head to toe feels tight and solid, with no loose joints anywhere.
There's also a surprisingly large number of moving parts, letting you pull off all kinds of different poses. Fully extending the multi-jointed legs gives you a long, imposing leg configuration on par with a PG, and the wings can be spread or folded at virtually any angle you like. The upper body tilts forward and back with a wide range of motion and can also rotate, opening up plenty of dynamic posing options. For a kit this large and heavy with so many moving parts, the joint strength is really well-tuned — definitely worth praising again.
Structurally, the shape and size make it tricky to stand on its own, but the included stand lets it stand upright stably. That said, it's a bit too big and heavy to borrow another stand for aerial poses. Accessories include claw parts that attach to the toes, and there's a bonus gimmick where you can detach and deploy the upper body into vehicle mode. Of course, there's also a gimmick for mounting a Hexa Gear Governor. One minor gripe: the feathers connected by ball joints do occasionally pop off.
All in all, this is one of the biggest and most unique bird-type mecha model kits ever made. Despite its massive size, it manages to nail both flexible articulation and solid joint strength at the same time. The ¥18,000 price tag is a pretty steep barrier to entry, though. Still, if the style and concept appeal to you, this kit will hit you with a culture shock unlike anything else out there. :-)
