Kit Review

This kit is the Governor EX Armor Type Bishop, released as part of Kotobukiya's Hexa Gear series. It's a bit bulkier than the standard Governor, and with the large weapons attached, it comes out looking quite flashy and voluminous for a Governor kit.
First off, as the body itself is larger, there are more parts and a more complex structure compared to the standard Governor. Overall it shows excellent proportions and articulation/joint strength, but the waist joint is really weak. Even the slightest movement causes the ball joint at the waist to pop out and separate the upper and lower body — it was bad enough to catch me off guard. It feels like the waist comes apart almost every single time you try to pose it, and honestly it makes you wonder if they even did any assembly testing before releasing it.
The kit comes with two rifles and a chain blade as weapons, and effect parts can be attached to each rifle individually. Two lead wires are embedded inside the chain blade, so it holds its shape well no matter what angle you bend it to. That said, the chain blade is heavy, so you'll need an additional weapon stand when posing with it.
There are also various supplementary parts included. The chain blade has a slot for a large handle, so it can be used with large Hexa Gear kits like the V-Thor as well. On top of that, joint parts for connecting two or more chains together are also provided.
So this is a kit characterized by its relatively large size and flashy weapons. Aside from the weak waist joint, there's not much else to complain about. That said, ¥5,800 for a palm-sized kit packed in a box smaller than a Bandai HG — that's definitely something to think about in terms of value. Anyway, there are a few barriers to entry, but it does feel like a Governor kit with its own unique personality. :-)
