Kit Review
Straight build
Two grip parts of different sizes are included for the nose section, and you can choose which one to use.
Apparently the grip parts are meant to be held by the hands of other Hexa Gear kits.

This is the Alternative Cloudshape, released as part of Kotobukiya's Hexa Gear series. Like some previous releases, it comes as a twin pack with two identical units included. It's a cute little insect-style mech that's even smaller than a cigarette pack.
Being a small kit, it goes together quickly with a minimal parts count, and aside from the wing deployment there aren't really any other gimmicks on the main body. The wings can flap up and down, and when spread open you can attach the included PET sheet effect parts. You'll need to peel off the protective film on one of the printed sides of the PET sheet first — it's hard to spot, so make sure you check carefully before peeling. That said, honestly it looks pretty decent even without removing the film.
The dedicated stand can be set up in two configurations: a tall-pillar flight display stand, or a launch catapult setup. When the unit is mounted on the catapult, you can slide it forward and backward and adjust the angle as well. You can also detach just the catapult section, attach it to the unit, and combine it with the separately sold humanoid Governor kit. The flight display stand also supports a joint part that lets you display both units on it simultaneously.
So while it's a small kit, it packs in a decent variety of gimmicks and features for a little accessory set. Build quality is clean and tidy, so if you're collecting the Hexa Gear series, this seems like a fun little kit to pick up casually. :-)
