Kotobukiya Medarot

KXK00-M Crossmessiah

Kit Review

Straight build

Cross Messiah has been released as part of Kotobukiya's Medabot lineup. It's a unique unit with an odd-eye style where each eye is a different color, and it has a somewhat different feel compared to the previous releases. The color scheme is similar to Rokusho, but this kit is covered in sharp, pointed shapes all over.

Like the previous releases, it features a ball-joint-based articulation structure, and being a newer kit, the joint strength is plenty solid. On top of that, the excellent articulation makes this a kit that's fun and easy to pose. For weapons, the right arm is equipped with a Beetle Gun and the left with a Stag Sword, each of which can be swapped out to a deployed form. The Charge Corne on the head can also be swapped to a deployed form. Beyond that, it includes the same 3 hand types as the previous releases, along with the series' trademark speech bubble cards.

It's a solid new Medabot kit with decent overall quality, and at the very least, the joint strength feels much more reassuring compared to the early releases. If you're a Medabot fan, this looks like a clean, no-brainer kit to pick up. :-)
