Bullet Knight Lancer

Kit Review

Straight build

This is the Bullet Knight Lancer, released as part of the Megami Device lineup. It's a companion kit to the Bullet Knight Launcher that came out just before it, and most of the runners are reused with only the molded color changed — so yes, it is a color variant — but with the color scheme completely switched up and the weapon swapped out, it actually feels like quite a different kit.

Design-wise, beyond the change from launcher to lancer, the head design and side skirts have also been revised. Everything else — the accessories and the Ride Mode gimmick — remains identical. The extra-long lancer, stretching over 40cm, still makes this a tricky kit to display, and since it's even a bit longer than the launcher, it takes up quite a bit of shelf space. That said, there's a real sense of presence that comes with the size, so that's probably going to be a love-it-or-hate-it point for most people.

Articulation and joint strength are on par with the previous kit, delivering excellent poseability and solid joints overall. That said, the joint strength balance is still a bit inconsistent — some joints are stiff while others are less so, all mixed together — so if you're not careful with how much force you apply when posing, you might find parts popping off here and there.

As long as you can overlook the sheer bulk of this thing, it's a genuinely high-quality girlpla, and if the style appeals to you, it's definitely worth recommending. :-)
