This kit is the Chaos & Pretty Alice, released as the 18th entry in the Megami Device line. Like its predecessor Red Riding Hood, it's based on a character from a well-known story — this time, the motif is "Alice in Wonderland."
The build follows a three-stage system: start with Base Body Mode, add parts to get Alice Mode, then add more parts to achieve Wild Mode. Reassemble the Wild Mode parts and you can build the rabbit-shaped Chronoleps. In the original story, Alice follows a white rabbit and that's how the adventure begins — it's a really clever nod to the source material. The large clocks attached on either side of the Chronoleps add even more atmosphere from the original story.
The included weapons are the Key Axe and Rifle, which can be combined into the Key Rifle. That said, the rear section of the Key Rifle clashes badly with the backpack, which is a bit of a hassle. For my main photos at the top of the review, I actually left that part off — just so you know.
Overall, the kit offers solid articulation and sturdy joint strength, and parts rarely fall off during posing, making it a very easy kit to work with. Early Kotobukiya girl kits used to have disappointing joint strength, but it's been getting better and better over time, which is great to see. Wild Mode does make the legs a bit heavy, so stability can feel slightly iffy, but it's not really bad enough to cause problems for standing or posing.
Anyway, the biggest appeal of this kit is probably the design paying homage to a beloved classic story, along with its bright, cheerful color scheme. Build quality and durability are excellent too, so if the style speaks to you, this is a girl kit you can grab without hesitation. :-)
