This kit is the Buster Doll Knight, the second release in Kotobukiya's Buster Doll series. Since it's a series based on the shared platform called Machinika Block2-M, the base body from the previous release, Buster Doll Gunner, has been carried over as-is — this time around, though, the outer armor has been changed to a knight-style design with a sword and shield instead of a gun.
So the base body's features and articulation are the same as before — for this review, you'll mainly want to focus on the new outer armor and weapons. The four-stage transformation system — base body → costume → Light Armor → Full Armor — works the same way too, and the articulation and joint strength are still solid and reliable. That said, in Full Armor mode there's a lot of gear getting in the way, so posing does feel a bit more cumbersome.
Since this kit was designed from the start with base body reuse in mind, there isn't a whole lot that's structurally new to look at. That said, there's still fun to be had swapping out the outer armor on the solid base body to create all sorts of different looks. Either way, the kit quality itself is clean and tidy, so if the style appeals to you, it's definitely worth picking up and enjoying. :-)
