Kotobukiya Megami Device

Sitara Kaneshiya Ver. Karwa Chauth

Kit Review

Straight build

Sitara Kaneshiya from the mobile game "Alice Gear Aegis" has been released as part of the Megami Device lineup. This is essentially an outside character being released in the Megami Device format rather than an original plastic model character — Agatsuma Kaede was previously released in the same fashion.

The basic setup stays true to the existing Megami Device concept, and aside from some frame parts and effect parts, most of it comes as newly tooled parts. The body shows solid articulation and joint strength just like previous entries, and the careful color separation gives it a great straight build look.

Just like its predecessor Agatsuma Kaede, a variety of flame effect parts are included that can be applied to the weapons and verniers. The backpack is large and flashy, and the unique foot shape makes it hard to stand on its own, so a dedicated stand is included. The stand base itself is the same as previous releases, though a thicker pillar has been added to handle the heavier body.

As for features unique to this kit — first off, two additional hand shapes have been added compared to the previous release, and cat ears and a tail are included for the body, letting you pull off some unique catwoman-style poses. There's also a gimmick where you swap out the apron to extend the leg range of motion, and interestingly, the neck joint can be assembled in your choice of left/right or forward/backward movement. That said, swapping it out after assembly is a bit of a hassle.

For a kit with this much stuff hanging off it, the hold is actually pretty decent and there's nothing too frustrating during posing — though you will spend a fair amount of time adjusting all the parts that need to be positioned just right. On top of that, the claw arm at the top of the backpack deploys in multiple stages, and as is typical for the series, various joint parts are included so you can do all kinds of crossover builds.

Overall, this is a very solid quality girlpla, and it gets extra points for having better-than-expected hold given how complex the structure is. If you like the style, this is a great girlpla that's well worth enjoying. :-)
