The Novice has been released as the third main kit in Kotobukiya's Megalomania series. Just like the previous release, Ruby Eye,it's essentially based on the existing Principalbody with new armor added on top. New additions include the head, shoulders, chest, skirts, along with six knives and their storage parts.

So all of the body's structure and articulation features are identical to the Principal base body — you still get incredible articulation and solid joint strength that lets you pull off all kinds of dynamic poses. Combined with the updated molded colors and the cybernetic-looking face and costume, it does manage to carve out its own distinct visual identity. On top of that, the six newly added knives can be stored three per wrist, and you can slip them between the fingers too, which opens up all sorts of unique posing options.

And so the series keeps going, reusing the excellent base body while swapping out just a bit of the outer armor and accessories for each variation. Given how good the base body quality is, this feels like a series that's well worth enjoying as long as the style appeals to you. :-)
