This kit is the Kagaribi Maria (Dress Code), released as part of Kotobukiya's Megalomaria series. Once again it goes with a human-type concept rather than a mechanical one. Megalomaria PrincipalUnlike the previous kits that reused that kit's frame, this one features an almost entirely new sculpt for both the exterior and the inner frame.

As a result, several joints have been given improved structures. The shoulder blade in particular moves dramatically in all four directions — up, down, forward, and backward — giving it an incredibly flexible range of shoulder articulation. The hip joint structure has also been improved, completely fixing the issue where the hip parts would fall off during posing. On top of that, it's packed with a total of 81 articulation points, including flexible wrists and individually movable strands of hair.

Joint strength is also tuned to be solid, holding whatever pose you put it in without any issues. The combination of an enormous number of movable parts and excellent holding power makes this arguably the greatest action figure model kit ever made. I especially love how the long individual strands of hair can be posed freely — and even those hold their position well, making this a rock-solid kit from head to toe.

The sword and scabbard included as weapons can be mounted using two types of mount parts. The standard mount lets you carry it on the back, but if you want to mount it on the side of the waist, you'll need the belt parts from the separately sold Weapon Unit 47 Nihonto 2. The fabric skirt folds up smoothly and barely interferes with leg articulation. Removing the skirt lets you set it up in light armor form, and just like the previous kit, three face parts are included that let you rotate the pupils.

Once again breaking multiple records and claiming the top spot as the ultimate action figure model kit — the sheer number of movable parts combined with solid joint strength is absolutely worth praising. That said, the red pupils give it a slightly eerie vibe, so the style might not be for everyone. But if the look is your thing, this is hands-down the best girl model kit out there and I'd highly recommend it. :-)
