The second entry in the Muv-Luv 1/144 series is the Shiranui : Imperial Japanese Army. Just like the relationship between the Takemikazuchi and the Shiranui, they look similar at first glance, but aside from some shared weapons, they're actually quite different designs.
The basic build is the same as the 1/144 Takemikazuchi, but compared to the Takemikazuchi, the clear parts implementation feels a bit lacking. The spot on the shoulders where clear parts should be is just left bare, which is a little disappointing.
Just like the Takemikazuchi, the solid joint strength you get from the smaller size is impressive, and the articulation is decent too — posing it is definitely way easier than the larger non-scale Shiranui. The big binders on the rear don't sag, and you don't have to handle it carefully just to keep the center of gravity in check. In that sense, the 1/144 Muv-Luv series is actually a pretty solid lineup when it comes to playability.
Aside from the deep, rich colors giving it a heavy and powerful look, there's nothing particularly standout about it as a typical Muv-Luv Shiranui kit. That said, the smaller scale does give it an edge in articulation and joint strength, and the detail doesn't fall too far behind the larger non-scale version — so if you're a Muv-Luv fan, the 1/144 scale is definitely worth a closer look. :-)
