The Su-47E Berkut has been released as the third original unit exclusive to the Muv-Luv 1/144 lineup. It's got a very Soviet-looking design and color scheme, and fittingly, the real-world Su-37 Berkut is Russia's cutting-edge fighter jet developed as a counterpart to the American F-22 Raptor.
The real-life Russian Berkut fighter features a forward-swept wing design, so when translated into robot form, it ends up with wings jutting upward from the shoulders rather than the typical layout seen on other units. The motor blades at the ends of the arms are reproduced as swappable parts, and the folding blades on the heels are nicely done as a working mechanism too.
The kit shares the same overall characteristics as the rest of the 1/144 Muv-Luv lineup — decent articulation and light yet sturdy joints make it easy to pose in both standing and action poses, with good stability that makes it fun to handle. ^^ On top of that, its distinctive color scheme and style help it stand out a bit more compared to the other Muv-Luv units that tend to look fairly similar to one another.
Aside from the snap-fit connections still being a little on the weak side, it's a solid kit that feels on par with a Bandai HG kit. Since this unit is only available in 1/144, it's definitely worth building if you're a Muv-Luv fan. :-)
