Kotobukiya Nadesico

Alstromeria

Kit Review

Straight build

The Alstromeria has been released as the latest addition to Kotobukiya's Nadesico series. It's essentially developed as a successor to the Aestivalis, with changes to the head, shoulders, forearms, knees, and more. The rest of the parts are shared with the existing Aestivalis kits, so at a glance it doesn't look all that different aside from the color scheme — and the kit's characteristics are pretty much the same too.

It's a very small kit, but true to Kotobukiya form, a lot of parts go into it — (I always wonder where all those parts end up;) — the articulation is decent, and the joint strength is solid, so it's pretty easy to pose.

One unique feature of the Alstromeria is that it can be equipped with claws on the forearms — you can attach a total of 6 claws across both arms to set it up as a close-combat weapon configuration.

It's a series that keeps milking the same mold over and over, but each one has its own distinctive color scheme and they're fairly easy to build, so if you're a Nadesico fan, this seems like a kit you can have a good time with. :-)
