White-Glint's build is truly top-tier in terms of size.

White-Glint, arguably the most popular unit in the Armored Core series, has finally made its appearance in Kotobukiya's NEXT lineup. The overwhelming presence White-Glint showed in the For Answer opening left a powerful impression even on people who had never played the game. Perhaps because of that, its popularity at release was equally overwhelming — it sold out early, which is rare for an Armored Core kit, and there were times when it was genuinely hard to get your hands on one.

First of all, the kit itself feels much larger than other Armored Core kits, and it has a presence that rivals or surpasses most Bandai MG kits. Sure, there's the large Nine-Ball Seraph kit out there, but in terms of sheer presence through design and style, White-Glint still feels like it's a cut above.

Given its size, the price is also quite steep at ¥6800, and it comes with an enormous number of runners and parts. True to Kotobukiya's style, the color separation is nearly perfect, but since the color scheme is essentially just black and white, it can feel a little monotonous. It's also a bit of a shame that the white molded color doesn't look all that premium.

In terms of articulation and joint strength, it more than passes the test — despite its large size, there are no noticeably loose joints anywhere, and everything feels well-tightened overall. I especially like how the shoulder joints hold up well in Over Boost mode with the arms stretched straight forward.

As you'd expect from a pricey, popular kit, White-Glint's various open/transformation gimmicks are faithfully reproduced — the Assault Armor deployment is all there, and all the various Booster gimmicks are carefully and thoroughly recreated. Seeing White-Glint in Over Boost mode with the Boosters deployed and charging forward really does make you go "now THAT'S White-Glint!"

If you touch up the molded color — which is the one minor letdown — this is an excellent kit that recreates the in-game White-Glint superbly, and it's essentially a must-have best item for any Armored Core fan. And of course, having the VOB alongside it would make it even better. :-)
