This kit is the 1/12 Rockman X Blade Armor released as part of Kotobukiya's Rockman series. Following the Max, Force, Second, and Full Armors, we now get the Blade Armor form as well. Like the previous releases, some of the inner frame and effect parts are reused, but the exterior armor across the entire body is all-new sculpting.

Since the basic inner frame is the same across all Rockman X kits, it still delivers solid articulation and joint strength. The ankle joints being prone to popping out is also unchanged, so you'll want to be careful when posing. The Buster, which is unique to this armor, can be switched to its deployed state by swapping out 4 parts. The included helper tool makes disassembly and swapping easy, and you can attach both the dedicated blade beam parts and the Z-Saber beam parts. On top of that, a set of white hands for Rockman X is also included, so you can have Rockman X wield the Z-Saber as a crossover.

While the basic format is the same as the existing Rockman X series, it's still meaningful that the completely new Blade Armor design has been given the plastic model treatment. It seems like a well-done kit that any Rockman X fan would be more than happy to add to their collection. :-)
