This kit is the 1/12 AXL released as part of Kotobukiya's Mega Man series. After a long run of various Mega Man X variations dominating the lineup, a different character has finally made an appearance — one who first shows up in the Mega Man X7 series.

The basic construction is pretty much identical to the existing Mega Man X kits, but one key improvement is the ankle structure. The ankles used to pop off frequently during posing, and that issue has been completely resolved here. Overall articulation is also a step up from before, and the joint strength is solid, so posing is nearly stress-free. Aside from the polycap occasionally falling out when swapping hands, there really isn't much to complain about on the articulation front.

For weapons, only two AXL Bullets are included, along with dedicated hands to hold them. It feels a little sparse without any other accessories, but you can still pull off a good variety of poses. As a bonus gimmick, the back wings can be swapped out to recreate the stowed configuration.

So while the accessories aren't exactly plentiful, this is a well-made kit that nails the fundamentals. If you're a fan of the Mega Man series, this looks like a high-quality action figure model kit that's well worth getting excited about. :-)
