Kotobukiya Rock Man

Blues

Kit Review

Straight build

Following Roll, Blues from Rockman has now been released as well —
and it's basically a kit with nearly the same structure as Rockman. The differences are the molded color,
the head shape, the upper body form, plus the addition of a scarf and shield. Considering there are quite a few more extras included,
the price is still kept at ¥3000, which is nice.

Both the molded color and the build feel are quite excellent, similar to Rockman,
and the articulation is identical too. The energy pack and Rock Buster accessories are also
pretty much the same, just with different molded colors. The added scarf isn't a soft part,
but it still looks good enough, and the shield is designed so it can be mounted
either in the hand or on the back.

With Rockman, the hip joint connector felt a little weak for some reason.. but on Blues it seems slightly improved — the fit is tighter.
I'm guessing there may have been some mold revision, and because of that, the overall quality
feels just a notch better than Rockman in some ways.

The kit quality itself is more than passable.. but the downside of this kit is that Blues just doesn't have the same character appeal as the main hero Rockman. It looks really great displayed alongside Rockman and Roll.. but if you had to pick just one of the three, this one would most likely be the last choice.
(If it were me, I'd probably go with Roll.. ^^;)
