Kit Review

This kit is the Guarlion, which belongs to the same family as the previously released Altalion,
and the overall design concept is quite similar. Perhaps because of that, it even uses
the same polycaps as the Altalion — though unlike the Altalion, there's no transformation
feature here.
Honestly, just looking at the photos or the box didn't really do much for me,
but once I actually built it, the quality is clean and the colors and proportions are solid,
so it turned out to be a pretty nice kit. The design structure doesn't allow for flashy
articulation, but the joints are sturdy and it feels great to handle.
It also comes with an optional head parts for Tenzan, so you can choose between the two
when building. On top of that, you get adapter parts for securing the weapons to the back
and even a dedicated stand. The shoulder open gimmick for the Sonic Breaker pose is
reproduced as well, so it's a kit that does a faithful job of recreating the in-universe
specs. The color separation is cleanly done, and the molded colors are A-grade among
Kotobukiya kits, so there's really not much to complain about.
The unique design concept might be a bit divisive, but the quality is quite solid as you'd
expect from a modern Kotobukiya kit, so I'd say it's one you can recommend without
hesitation. :-)
