Kit Review

Kotobukiya's new girlpla mechanic model kit lineup — the second entry in the WISM Megami Device series, Snipe/Grapple, has been released. The overall structure is the same as the previous Assault/Scout, with more than half the runners being reused.
This kit lets you build two different characters — Snipe with a light skin tone and Grapple with a bronzed skin tone — but there's still only one body, so you have to keep disassembling and reassembling to switch between them, which is a bit of a hassle. On top of that, switching to the armored configuration requires yet another round of disassembly, and the helmet comes in two styles as well, so you can put together quite a wide variety of combinations.
Lately, both Bandai and Kotobukiya have been putting out a lot of kits with tons of possible configurations, but honestly, working through all those combinations one by one is quite the grind.. (^^;) It's not exactly fun from a reviewer's standpoint, but I guess these kinds of kits are selling well these days.
Snipe is, as the name suggests, a sniper-concept character armed with a long-range sniper gun, and the barrel can be swapped between two different styles. Grapple is a cat-themed character, and there's a fun factor in posing her with those big hands in a clawing action.
The overall articulation and joint strength are solid, so posing is pretty easy — though because the feet are small, you'll often need the included stand. One thing to note: the swap-out hands tend to pop off at the wrist pretty frequently, which can get annoying.
Anyway, if you're into girlpla mechanic model kits, this is definitely one worth checking out — have a look at the style, and if it's your thing, it's well worth picking up. :-)
