Wonder Woman has made her appearance as a Kotobukiya girlpla. Based on an illustration by renowned illustrator Humikane Shimada, the design comes across as a completely different image from Gal Gadot's portrayal.
The basic format follows the typical Kotobukiya girlpla formula — it really feels like only the visual design has been changed. As a result, the articulation characteristics, face-swapping gimmick, and overall posing feel are all very familiar. I'd say the biggest appeal here is simply that such a popular movie character has been given a physical form.
Overall, in terms of parts fit and joint strength, it feels a step up in quality compared to previous Frame Arms Girl and Megami Device kits. Joints don't really pop out and parts don't fall off during posing, and you can get it into pretty much any pose you want without much hassle. A simple stand is included so you can pull off aerial poses too, and you can choose between the standard A-type thighs or the high-leg B-type depending on your preference.
For weapons, you get a sword, a shield, and Wonder Woman's iconic Lasso of Truth. The lasso comes as yellow wire in 30cm and 60cm lengths, so you can pick whichever suits your pose. The wire holds its shape surprisingly well — no matter what angle or direction you bend it, it stays put. On top of that, you can add an effect part onto the shield, and the knife on the forearm can be slid forward and locked in place.
It's a solid, well-made kit, so if you're a fan of Wonder Woman and girlplas, you'll definitely get a lot out of it. Personally though, I can't help but wish the gold parts (and I use the word "gold" loosely — let's be honest, it's more of a poop brown) had come as gold-plated parts instead. That would've made it look truly stunning. :-)
