This kit is the Zoids Shield Liger Desert Type, released as an Irasawa distribution exclusive. True to form for a straightforward limited edition(?), the only change is that the molded colors have been swapped to a desert version — structurally it's 100% identical to the blue normal version.

The desert-colored molded colors came out quite nicely, so even a straight build looks pretty decent... and honestly the color scheme feels even better than the normal version. Since every other characteristic is the same as the normal version, for a structural breakdown and photos, please refer to the normal Shield Liger reviewfor reference.

Just like the original, this kit requires an enormous number of parts and a complex assembly process, so you'll need a fair bit of patience to get through it — but the sense of satisfaction once it's done is something else. In my case, building the same kit a second time after the original Shield Liger (-.-) made it somewhat more manageable than the first time around. My fingers were still sore by the end, though. ^^;

Compared to other Kotobukiya exclusives, it's a little disappointing that there are no special accessories and only the colors have changed — but it does create a completely different atmosphere from the normal version, so I'd say it's a reasonably solid limited release. :-)
