This kit is the Blade Liger AB Leon Ver., a limited edition variation of the Blade Liger. The molded color of the original Blade Liger has been changed to red, and a new weapon called the Attack Booster has been added to the back. Gotta love how they throw in a special weapon even with the limited edition!
Since the Blade Liger is based on the early Shield Liger body, it doesn't have the most refined look, but with the red molded color and the Attack Booster that can be deployed in a variety of ways, the overall volume and presence feel like a real upgrade. The Attack Booster can be used with the cover deployed, converted into the AZ High-Density Beam Cannon, or spread out on both sides for an impressive display.
The Blade Liger already had a high parts count to begin with, and with the Attack Booster added on top of that, the total number of parts and build time are probably among the highest of any Zoid kit out there. It does take a pretty long time — almost to the point of feeling tedious — but once you finish it, you definitely get that sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. ^^;;
It's a great kit that takes the original and upgrades it nicely, and it's a bit of a shame that it was only released as a limited edition. Perhaps that's why a blue AB Bang version was later released as a regular release, but just the fact that it's a red Attack Booster spec Blade Liger is more than enough reason for it to be a worthwhile limited edition. :-)
