Great Saber

Kit Review

Straight build

Great Saber has been released as the second variation of the Saber Tiger series. The body color is a dark black similar to the Schwarz Version, though the shade is subtly different. What sets it apart from the original Saber Tiger/Schwarz Version is that the back armament has been completely replaced with all-new weapons, the tail has been changed to a Tail Wing Stabilizer, and additional weaponry has been added below the chest.

The newly added armament consists of the Assault Unit and the Power Balance Unit — and with the complex, flashy weapons plus soft rubber ammo belts and wings thrown in, it looks seriously stylish. Compared to the Schwarz Version, the overall color is deeper and richer, which gives it a slightly stronger presence and sense of power overall.

The basic body characteristics are naturally the same as the Saber Tiger, and since it's a step up in construction compared to the Shield Liger or Blade Liger, the quality is pretty solid. That said, just like the Schwarz Version, the waist joints feel a little weak for supporting all that massive armament — but there's not much you can do about that. It's a kit that wins on looks anyway, so whatever..

If you're a fan of the Saber Tiger series, this is a must-have, and it's a fantastic Zoid kit with its own unique charm that sets it apart from both the original and Schwarz versions. :-)
