Kit Review
Straight build
Straight build
The Iguan, a variation of the Godos, has been released as a new HMM Zoids kit. As you can see, it shares the same base body, but with about 50% of the exterior changed — including the head, arms, feet, tail, and surrounding weapons — so it ends up looking quite different.
Since it's based on the Godos, the basic frame, articulation, and joint strength are all at the same level. And just like the Godos, the range of motion is somewhat limited compared to its looks, so the poses you can pull off are fairly restricted. On top of that, there aren't really any notable accessories — aside from detaching an ear to use as a hand gun, there aren't many poses worth striking. It feels like a kit that's more about building it and displaying it nicely. ^^;
On the flip side, the bold combination of vivid red, silver, and brown gives it a noticeably flashier look than the Godos, so the satisfaction after a straight build feels a bit higher. The gimmick of four opening covers from neck to tail, along with the more elaborate tail, makes the rear view look especially great.
All in all, it's a solid new release with quite a few fresh elements for a variation kit, and it's a well-rounded kit in terms of quality and content that any Zoids fan should have a good time building. :-)
