Continuing Kotobukiya's new lineup — this time it's Jehuty, the mech from Anubis - ZOE (Zone of Enders), a PlayStation 2 game. At first glance you might read it as "Zefty," but looking at the spelling, Jehuty seems to be correct.

Anyway, at first glance it's got that pointy-feet style that brings Linebarrel to mind, but overall it's got a pretty fresh design of its own. I'd been a little disappointed that Kotobukiya kits of this type tend to be on the small side for the price, but this Jehuty came out quite a bit bigger than I expected. It's about the size of a 1/100 MG.

Looking closely at the overall kit composition and quality, for some reason it feels like more care went into this one compared to other game-based kits. The notably larger size is one thing, but the backpack effect parts painted on clear plastic feel fresh too, and the overall parts layout and color separation are very clean. Having built pretty much every Kotobukiya injection kit out there... I get the feeling the kit developer might have been a serious fan of this game ^^;

And due to the design, the feet are so pointy that you can't stand it on a flat surface, so a dedicated Kotobukiya stand engraved with the Anubis logo is included. There's also a heel gimmick that lets you spread the toe sections out slightly, but it's still not really viable for freestanding — this is definitely a kit that needs to go straight onto the stand.

Design-wise, the most distinctive feature is the crotch area, which is embarrassingly large and pointy — and on top of that, there's an articulation gimmick inside that lets it extend outward to some degree;;;; Seems like a healthy male mech (just kidding...)

The articulation turned out to be more ordinary than I expected given the sleek design, which was a slight letdown, but overall the kit feels very well put together.
