Kotobukiya Zoid Wild

Fang Tiger

Kit Review

Straight build

This kit is the Fang Tiger, released as the second entry in Kotobukiya's Zoids Wild HMM series. It reuses the skeleton frame from the previously released Wild Liger as much as possible while swapping out all the exterior armor. This time around, it's a yellow tiger concept instead of a lion.

Since the skeleton frame is shared, the basic articulation characteristics are the same as the Wild Liger, offering a good variety of movement points and solid joint strength. The Twind Fang mounted on the back can be deployed in multiple stages, and you can add effect parts to the head to recreate the Wild Blast mode. Beyond that, the pre-painted Bacon figure, two Zoid Key variants, and two head options are all included the same way as with the Wild Liger.

Since the existing skeleton is reused as-is, it's not the most structurally novel kit, but with the entire exterior changed it's still fresh enough to be worth building. The assembly feels smooth and the snap-fit works well, so it's a satisfying build overall. If you're a fan of the Zoids Wild series or just love beast-type mecha, this is definitely a kit worth having some fun with. :-)
