Following Unit 1, Unit 2 was naturally(?) released as well. Since Unit 2's original design specs differ from Unit 1 only in the head and shoulder design, about 90% of the kit — arms, legs, body, etc. — is identical to the Ingram Unit 1, with only the head, shoulder parts, and pilot figure swapped out. For a more in-depth overall review of the kit, please refer to the Ingram Unit 1 reviewfor reference.
The newly introduced Unit 2 head features a double-clear parts construction for the main camera, giving it a completely different feel from Unit 1's head. Just like Unit 1, there are quite a few small partial painting points on the head, shoulders, and body — but on top of that, Unit 2 also requires painting the border of the double-clear parts on the head in white to really make it look right.
Almost all of the runners and parts are no different from Unit 1, but Unit 2 comes with a shotgun that Units 1 and 3 don't have. The stock is articulated, and the charging handle moves too — it's a pretty slick little piece. ^^ It gives Unit 2 a bit of a unique feel. Unit 2 also comes with a bonus 1/35 figure — specifically, a Kanuka Clancy figure.
Since nearly all the characteristics are the same as Unit 1, there isn't much else to say separately — but between the sharper-looking head, the shotgun exclusive to Unit 2, and the redesigned shoulders, the purchase value doesn't seem to fall short of Unit 1 at all. :-)
