Kit Review
Straight build
+ panel lining + decals
The GN Sword V connects to the palm peg,
and the forearm mounting point does lock in too, but...
the hold is neither great nor terrible — just so-so.
Just like the Exia, the GN Drive comes with a separate display stand.
Unlike the Exia's clear/transparent version, this one is molded in clear green.
The GN Drive's shape is a bit different from the Exia's.
Since the backpack itself has to plug into the GN Drive,
it's a little disappointing that you can't attach the backpack or GN Shield when the GN Drive is removed.
You need 2 of them — one for the front and one for the back — and since they're sold separately, it's a bit of a hassle having to buy them on your own...
All 6 GN Sword Bit beam parts detach individually, and each one has its own transformation/locking gimmick.
The green clear parts — a hallmark of the 00 series — fit a little loosely.
If you leave the gate marks on the round green clear parts slightly less cleaned up, the fit gets tighter, but
for a more reliable fix, extra thin cement applied by capillary action into the gaps works great.
The other smaller green clear parts also let you choose between a clear seal or an opaque sticker, regardless of whether you're using the LED lighting.
You can choose between a clear seal or an opaque sticker.
If you want to preserve that green clear look, going with the clear seal is definitely the way to go.
Outer armor removal shot.
There isn't a huge amount of armor and the layout is simple, so removing it is relatively easy.
(The RG Char's Zaku released alongside this one is way more fiddly, though ㅡ,.ㅡ)
The elbows and wrists also have a gimmick where green clear parts pop out,
but again you have to disassemble the parts to pull them out, which is a bit of a hassle.
The GN Shield can be moved to quite a few different positions with a good range of flexibility,
and the shield cover section moves independently as well.
Action poses in GN Sword rifle mode.
The flexible ankles make it easy to strike a pose, but the off-center design means
balancing is a bit tricky.
As you can see, the GN Shield mounted on the left side throws the center of gravity way off,
so if you leave it standing, the waist slowly tilts to the left.
In this case, as shown in the photo above, you can mount the GN Sword V in between, which eliminates the gap
and prevents it from leaning to the left — a handy little trick.
Buster Sword action with all GN Sword Bits combined.
The sword is so massive there's absolutely no way to hold it with one hand.
