MG GNT-0000

00 Qan[T] ~ Clear Color ver.

Kit Review

Straight build

This kit is the MG 00 Qan[T] Clear Color ver., released as a limited edition for the 2011 Gunpla Expo. The overall quality of the clear parts is on par with other clear limited editions — the milky-clear white armor and the standard blue/red clear parts complement each other nicely.

Since the base kit is already excellent quality, the Clear Color ver. delivers a satisfying build as well. Like most clear color versions, the tolerances tighten up a bit, so the joints hold together more firmly, which is a nice bonus. That said, just like the standard version, the feet are on the small side and the ankle joints are a touch loose, so if you don't balance the center of gravity carefully, it can still topple over at the ankles. ^^;

Visually, it might be a bit of a love-it-or-hate-it situation. Since the inner frame doesn't really show through, the overall look ends up feeling a little dark and murky. Personally, I think the standard version with its crisp white and blue colors looks a bit nicer. Of course, being a limited edition, the Clear Color ver. does its job in offering a unique atmosphere all its own.

Either way, if you're a fan of the 00 series and love the Qan[T], this is a solid limited edition that's well worth building. :-)
