MG RMS-108

Marasai [Unicorn Color Ver.]

Kit Review

Straight build

This Marasai [Unicorn Color Ver.] was released as a Club G limited edition. It came out as a regular release in HGUC, but I guess since it's just a simple molded color variation, it ended up as a limited edition for the MG.

The base body is 100% identical to the original release, with only the molded color changed to a green tone. In exchange, it comes with the large Fedayeen Rifle and the whip-type Badasam weapon, just like the HGUC version. The detail on the Fedayeen Rifle is pretty average, and the long barrel and odd structure make it feel a bit awkward to fit in the hand. As for the Badasam, it's just decent quality — nothing particularly special about it.

The real issue with this kit — if you can call it an issue — is probably the quality of the MG Marasai itself as the base kit. The style and proportions are fine, but the somewhat flat detail combined with surprisingly poor articulation makes it feel far from a modern kit. T_T Honestly, it's a base that's just terrible at holding dynamic poses, so as you can see from the action shots, don't expect any sense of dynamism here.

As a poseable figure, this MG is pretty much a fail — but the building experience and overall proportions are solid, making it a decent limited edition overall. If you're a fan of the Marasai and dig this color scheme, it's a so-so limited edition worth building at least once. :-)
