MG OZ-00MS II

Tallgeese II

Kit Review

Straight build

This kit is the MG Tallgeese II, released as a Club G limited edition. Basically, the body is 100% identical to the existing Tallgeese with only the molded color changed, but the head comes on a completely new runner with all-new tooling.

The new head for the Tallgeese II ditches the mohawk-style look of the original Tallgeese in favor of a rooster comb design, and the face is different as well. The blue molded color on the body came out nicely without any noticeable swirl marks, and the slightly fluorescent white molded color has a pretty clean finish too. Also, the new head runner includes newly added standing figures of Treize and Lady Une.

The original MG Tallgeese kit was already an excellent kit scoring in the high 90s, and building it again reminded me just how uniquely structured it is compared to other MGs. The internal frame and assembly process for the arms and legs are a bit different, and the backpack has this seemingly complex but brilliantly executed gimmick setup — it's a kit that gives you a noticeably different building experience compared to the more cookie-cutter feel of most MGs. Anyway, overall it's a solid MG with good articulation, joint strength, and build feel — for more details on the kit itself, check out the MG Tallgeese reviewfor reference.

Honestly, this could have been a regular retail release if handled right, but it was probably made as a Club G limited order-only item because the sales volume was expected to be relatively low. If you're a fan of the Wing series or Tallgeese, this would make a great addition to your collection. :-)
