An Extra Finish-style bright yellow coating.
Since a bright color is applied over such a large surface area, the coating isn't entirely uniform.
You can especially see a noticeable difference in paint thickness around the recessed areas.
The coating method works like this —
First, a shiny silver layer is laid down across the surface, then a bright yellow is sprayed on top to produce a subtle, reflective sheen.
One important thing to note is that since this kit was designed with the coating in mind from the start, undergates are used on the outer armor parts.
That said, whether it was like this in the original kit or not, some parts like the wrist pieces and a few other areas don't have undergate treatment..
The blue parts molded using gloss injection.
These are not undergated.
The darker sections of the body and some of the frame are also gloss injection.
Gloss injection on the red parts.
Interestingly, even the pipe sections are done in gloss injection.
The weapons are gloss injection too, but..
As you can see, the surface is rough in places, so there are actually some spots that end up looking less shiny because of it.
True to the HD Color version, it comes with some flashy decals and stickers.
There are 2 sheets of waterslide decals included in total.
