The MG Z'Gok, which is starting to show its age, has been released as a Club G limited edition under the Unicorn Color Ver. title. As you can see, the color scheme is put together like a camouflage combination reminiscent of a military look — but with no special add-ons or changed parts, it's a pure 100% color variant kit.

The darker, heavier color palette does make it feel more like a "weapon" of sorts. The white band on the forearm is reproduced with a sticker, which adds a nice accent. And as usual, three runners are included in duplicate to cover the new color scheme, leaving behind quite a pile of leftover parts.

The MG Z'Gok actually has great proportions and a solid parts layout, but its unique joint structure really limits the articulation, so the poses you can pull off are pretty restricted. That said, the hefty, solid volume you feel once it's all built up is pretty satisfying. ^^

Anyway, thanks to Gundam UC, a lot of older kits are getting a second chance in the spotlight, and seeing them re-released in all kinds of new colorways isn't a bad thing at all. I wouldn't go so far as to call it "Unicorn magic," but building the MG Z'Gok again after such a long time — with its distinctly old-school parts layout and feel — really did bring back some fond memories of those early MG days. :-)
