This kit is the MG Zeta Gundam Ver.2.0 Extra Finish Ver., released as a Chara Hobby 2010 exclusive. Putting out Extra Finish coating versions of iconic kits is a staple of event exclusives, and getting an Extra Finish version of the MG Zeta 2.0 — which came out with a massive leap in quality after 10 years — makes it feel all the more welcome. ^^
First off, the coating quality is on par with previous Extra Finish releases — the overall semi-gloss, fine metallic finish is really something special. Of course, being a plated version, gate marks do stand out quite noticeably, though I'd say if you step back a little they're not too distracting. (Up close though, it's a bit heartbreaking... T_T)
As you'd expect from a plated version, the joints are a bit stiffer, which actually works in its favor — the many moving parts involved in the transformation lock in more tightly, which is a pretty nice bonus. That said, just like the original kit, the transformation process is still fairly tricky, and the structurally weak waist joint remains a handful to deal with.
Either way, taking the already high-quality MG Zeta 2.0 and adding a premium coating on top makes this an exclusive with even greater display value. I had a bit of a tough time tracking one down myself, but if you're a Zeta fan, this is definitely a limited edition worth going after. :-)
